Restoring Soil. Reviving Communities.
We are an Indian non-profit working with farmers across 12 states to restore degraded soil, promote organic farming, and build sustainable livelihoods through science-driven programmes and community-led action.
Our Mission
Soil is the foundation of life. It feeds us, filters our water, stores carbon, and supports biodiversity. Yet, over 30% of the world's soil is degraded due to unsustainable farming practices, deforestation, and industrial pollution.
At Soil Health Foundation, we are committed to reversing this trend. Through science-driven restoration programs, farmer education, and community-led initiatives, we empower rural communities to heal their land, grow nutritious food, and build sustainable livelihoods. Every handful of healthy soil is a step toward a healthier planet.

Soil Restoration
Rehabilitating degraded and barren land through composting, cover cropping, mulching, and bio-remediation techniques that bring soil back to life.
Organic Farming Transition
Helping conventional farmers make the switch to organic methods with step-by-step guidance, soil testing, and market linkage support.
Farmer Training
Hands-on workshops, field demonstrations, and mentorship programs that equip farmers with modern sustainable agriculture skills.
Research & Field Trials
Conducting rigorous field studies to measure soil health outcomes, test new restoration methods, and generate actionable data for policy change.
Community Farming
Establishing cooperative farming networks that share resources, knowledge, and markets, strengthening rural communities from the ground up.
Integrated Nutrient Management

Voices from the Field
Hear directly from the farmers whose lives and livelihoods have been transformed through sustainable soil practices.
"After joining SHF's soil restoration programme, my cotton yield increased by 35% in just two seasons. I stopped buying chemical fertilisers and my input costs dropped by ₹8,000 per acre. My soil is alive again."
Lakshmi Devi
Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh
"The training on vermicomposting and bio-inputs changed everything for my family. We now sell organic produce at 25% premium in the local market. Other farmers in my village are following the same practices."
Ramesh Patel
Dahod District, Gujarat
"I was ready to abandon farming. SHF's team tested my soil and showed me how cover cropping and mulching could bring it back. Two years later, I'm growing three crops a year instead of one."
Kamala Devi
Hazaribagh District, Jharkhand
